Have Dad's Day
Looking for something fun to do with dad on Father's Day? There are lots of fun things to do around town!
Looking for something fun to do on Father’s Day? Here’s a few ideas:
Treat dad to a day of golf. Our region has 12 courses from which to choose - many designed by well known course architects. Learn more: www.VisitFayettevilleNC.com/golf. If a full round of golf is not his thing, take dad and the family to one the community’s miniature golf courses: Putt-Putt or FunFunFun in Hope Mills; and Mountasia, Round-of-Golf or Pirate Indoor Golf in Fayetteville.
Head to the Fort Bragg Clay Target Center in Spring Lake for an afternoon of shooting. Open to the public, Clay Target Center offers 12 Competition level Skeet fields, 6 Competition Trap fields and a voice release system for trap. www.FortBraggMWR.com

Visit the Airborne & Special Operations Museum and explore the award-winning exhibit “Task Force Ranger and the Battle of Mogadishu.” The exhibit, which won the John Wesley Powell prize for outstanding historic displays and was featured on 60 Minutes, holds artifacts from Mogadishu including parts of the helicopter shot down. While at the museum, explore Field of Honor, which contains a thousand full-size flags standing in tribute to a present or past service member. www.AsomF.org
Take Dad to the latest IMAX movie at the Patriot 14. Opened fall of 2014, Carmike’s Patriot 14 offers Cumberland County’s only IMAX experience. The complex has 14 auditoriums to screen the latest blockbusters including the IMAX theater.

Or.... take Dad fishing. Is Dad getting a new fishing pole for Father’s Day? The communities of Cumberland County have lots of great fishing spots. (So good that several years ago, the largest Catfish caught in North Carolina was caught right here in Cumberland County!) The Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors bureau has gathered a list of the community’s best fishing spots together on the Fish & Game Trail. Each trail location has specifics about what can be caught there and any regulations. www.VisitfayettevilleNC.com/CulturalHeritageTrails.
