Hope Mills Resident Wins $100,000 in Lottery

The scratch-off ticket will net $68,003 after taxes.

Saturday, one lucky Hope Mills resident bought a scratch-off $5 Monopoly ticket at a Ramsey Street gas station and won big. $100,000 big. Gerry Davis a fence contractor plans to use the money to grow his business and stash some away in savings.

"At first, I had only scratched off the top of the ticket and thought I had won $50,000," Davis said in a Fayettevile Observer news report. "I was already freaking out about winning that, but then I started scratching again and saw the rest of the numbers come up."
