SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (June 19, 2013) K2 Solutions, Inc. (K2) was recently awarded the AMVETS (American Veterans) National Employer of the Year Award for service to and employment of veterans. This award was for the 2011 calendar year, and was nominated in 2012 by K2 employees. Notification came in June of this year when K2 accepted the award in a Greensboro ceremony attended by Founding Owner, Lane Kjellsen, and new Vice President of Operations, Nancy Mills-Smith. At the time of the award, K2 employed 285 people, 109 of whom were veterans and 58 service disabled.
“K2 is proud and honored to accept this distinctive award,” said Kjellsen. “Employing capable veterans who quickly become vital to the functionality and successes of the company is woven into the fabric of K2 Solutions, and allows us to support AMVETS mission of successfully reestablishing veterans in the workplace,” shared Kjellsen.
AMVETS has a proud history of helping veterans and supporting programs that serve our country and its citizens. Their mission is to enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably through leadership, advocacy, and services. K2 earned this award for maximizing employment opportunities, protecting veteran’s rights, and meeting labor-market demands with qualified veterans while continuing its steadfast commitment to veterans and the nation.
