Pedestrian Killed Identified as Sylvester Eskridge.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have identified the deceased pedestrian killed in Monday's night accident as Sylvester Eskridge, 64, of 997 Wayside Road.

The investigation revealed that Eskridge stepped into the path of a 2004 Ford driven by Victor Phillip, 64, of 2139 Quailridge Drive, while Eskridge was attempting to cross Raeford Road around 8:15p.m. Phillip was not injured during the collision and will not face any criminal charges.

Roads were rerouted when the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the scene on Raeford Road near the Duke Street intersection.
