Police Searching for 19-Year-Old Possibly Connected to Sunday Night Shooting

Victim was shot and remains in stable condition at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives are searching for a person of interest in a shooting that happened last night in the Gallberry Farms community.

The victim, who has asked that his identity not be released, says two unknown males in a red, older model pickup truck rang the doorbell of his home on Gallberry Farm Road at around 11:00 p.m. and attempted to gain entry. The victim was able to force the door closed and lock it.

Witnesses reported seeing two males, thin in stature, running from the home to the pickup truck. Shortly afterwards, the abandoned vehicle was located on Thrower Road and was seized. Ammunition was also found inside the vehicle.

Detectives are now searching for 19-year old James Todd Fisher, Jr. who is a person of interest. Fisher lives in the Grays Creek Community.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Fisher is urged to contact the Cumberland County at Sheriff’s Office at (910) 323-1500.

Also, the Sheriff’s Command Post will be stationed at the BP Station on Chickenfoot Road from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Later in the day, the Command Post will move to Food Lion located on Highway 87 South and Sandhill Road from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Detectives will be on scene for citizens to share information about these and various other crimes in Cumberland County.
