Search and Recovery Operations Resume Thursday Morning for Student

Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputies have called off the search and rescue operation this evening for Cameron Draughon, 17, of 5642 Preston Field Lane, Hope Mills.

Witnesses say the Gray's Creek High School student was swimming in Rockfish Creek at around 4:30 p.m. today when he went under the water and never resurfaced.

Rescue and dive teams will resume the search and recovery operation on tomorrow morning at 8:00.
