Two Arrested in Vehicle Break-ins, Stolen Credit Card Used at Waffle House
Arrests Made in Elk Run Vehicle Break-ins
Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested two men in connection with motor vehicle break-ins in the Elk Run subdivision.
James DeJesus, 25, of 407 Sheila Street, Hope Mills and his accomplice, Alton Rowdell Steele, 24, of 409 Wakefield Drive, Hope Mills were apprehended late last week.
DeJesus is charged with transaction card theft and transaction card fraud after he attempted to make purchases with a credit card that was stolen from a parked car on Dalmatian Drive. DeJesus was seen on surveillance video using the card at Kangaroo, Shoe Show, Family Dollar, Citi Trends, S&W Food Mart and Waffle House.

He was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond.
Meanwhile, Steele is charged with breaking and entering of motor vehicles, larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. He is also charged with using a stolen credit card to make unauthorized purchases. Items allegedly taken by Steele came from a vehicle parked along Azure Drive in the Elk Run subdivision.

Steele was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2,500.
Both incidents occurred between August 26th and August 29th. The investigation continues.
