Two Elk Run Residents Robbed at Gunpoint

Law enforcement are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect captured on video.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two armed robberies, that happened in the Elk Run subdivision earlier this month.

On August 19, 2013 a resident in the area checking her mail was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown assailant and demanded money.  She was unharmed.

On August 22, 2013 a 17-year old moving vehicles around on his property was approached by a suspect with a handgun demanding money.  The victim slapped the weapon away and ran.  He was then shot in the leg by the suspect.

The suspect in both of these situations is described as being a dark skinned black male, approximately five feet ten inches tall.  He is very thin, with twists in his hair.  It’s believed the suspect is in his late teens to early 20s.
