Two Men Arrested in Duke Energy Copper Wire Theft
Stealing copper wire results in suspects going to jail.
Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested two men and charged them with stealing thousands of dollars in copper wire from Duke Energy.
Christopher Wayne Goins, 24, of 4756 Black’s Bridge Road, Parkton and Axel Erwin Foley, 20, of 5910 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills were placed in jail today.

Investigators say Goins and Foley entered a sub-station located at 7773 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville on May 15, 2013. The facility is owned by Duke Energy. While on the property, the men removed approximately 150 feet of copper grounding wire valued at ten thousand dollars.
Both men are charged with multiple counts of felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods. They are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a 20 thousand dollars bond, each. Goins and Foley will make a first court appearance in the Detention Center Courtroom on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.
