
Monday night, August 19, 2013 at around 8:15 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on Raeford Road near the Duke Street intersection. As a result of the collision, an unidentified male subject was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was later pronounced deceased at the medical facility.
Officers from the Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to the scene and are investigation the accident. The inbound lanes of Raeford Road were closed from Skibo Road to Duke Street with all traffic being diverted onto Skibo Road. Motorists traveling from Skibo Road to Raeford Road were diverted to the outbound lanes of Raeford Road. Delays were expected and put out the public via media releases on Monday evening until emergency personnel were able to clear the scene.
