Warrant Issued for Joseph Owens, Robbery and Kidnapping

Wanted for robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with July home invasion.

On July 25, 2013 at approximately 6:13 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Coley Drive in reference to a report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that three black males armed with handguns, forced entry into the residence.

The suspects then began demanding money from the occupants and threatened to harm the victims if they did not cooperate. During the course of the home invasion, a juvenile was present and was placed in harm’s way by the suspects. One of the victims was able to escape to safety and notify the police. The suspects then fled the scene; stealing a purse during their flight.

Detectives have been able to identify and issue warrants against a suspect in connection with the home invasion on July 25, 2013. The suspect has been identified as Joseph Isaiah Owens of 2329 Indian Creek Drive. Owens should be considered armed and dangerous. Owens has been charged with the following:

• Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon
• 2nd Degree Kidnapping (3 counts)
• Felonious Breaking and Entering
• Assault on Child under 12
• Felonious Conspiracy
