Abducted 3 Year-Old NC Girl Found, Search For Kidnapper Continues
Ahlora Ashanti Sample Lindiment, 3, was abducted from a Greensboro playground Wednesday evening. She was located Thursday.
GREENSBORO, NC — A missing 3-year-old girl has been found safe and was reunited with her family Thursday evening, more than 24 hours after she was abducted by a stranger from a Greensboro park Wednesday evening, according to police, who say the woman accused of taking her has not yet been located.
Greensboro Police Department initiated an Amber Alert Oct. 9 for Ahlora Ashanti Sample Lindiment, 3, after she went missing while playing at a playground located at a public housing complex on Phillips Avenue in Greensboro around 6:30 p.m.
Authorities say Ahlora was abducted by a black woman in her 20s, described as having a medium complexion, about 5-foot, 6-inches tall and about 135 pounds. The woman’s hair was worn in a short ponytail, and she was wearing a short sleeve black crop top and black pants with tiger faces and a yellow and white stripe on the pants legs. She was also wearing dark flip flops and a gold chain.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday night, a woman spotted a little girl walking alone by Words of Faith Christian Center church about six miles away from the playground, and called a police tip line, the Greensboro News & Record said. The child was taken to an area hospital for examination and was able to tell authorities her mother’s name. She was reunited with her family around 9:45 p.m.
“The suspect is still at large,” and authorities still do not know the motive behind the abduction, Greensboro Police Chief Wayne Scott told reporters Thursday night. While police have not positively identified the woman, they have some “very strong investigative leads,” Scott said.
