The Guilford County Elections Office announced today that the filing period to run for municipal offices begins Friday, July 2, 2021 at noon and ends on Friday, July 16, 2021 at noon. Persons wishing to run for municipal office in Guilford County in the following cities and towns must file notices of candidacy before July 16th at noon to be candidates on the ballot: Jamestown, Pleasant Garden, Burlington, Oak Ridge, Sedalia, Whitsett, Gibsonville, Summerfield, Stokesdale, Kernersville, and the Sedgefield Sanitary District.

Please note that there are no High Point or Greensboro elections this year. High Point’s next municipal election will be in 2023. Greensboro’s elections have been delayed until 2022 because of the recently passed NC Session Law 2021-56. Filing dates and information for Greensboro will be provided at a later time.
Notices of candidacy and filing fees must be filed in the County Board of Elections Office or notarized and received (not postmarked) in the office by noon on Friday, July 16th. Guilford County has offices at 301 W. Market St. in Greensboro and at 325 E. Russell Ave. in High Point.
