The grant supports a combination of permanent bins and movable temporary bins. Recycling receptacles will be placed alongside trash receptacles around the picnic shelters, sports fields and swimming pools, and other high-volume areas. The project aims to reduce waste by seven tons in its first year. Plastic bottles, tubs, jugs, and cans can be recycled in the parks. No household recycling is accepted at the parks.
- Plastic Bottles: Recycle all plastic soda, water, sports drinks, etc. Items should be clean and dry before going into the bin. Remove caps and covers.
- All Cans – Aluminum, Tin & Steel: Recycle aluminum beverage cans, tin and steel food cans that are clean. Throw away jagged metal can covers since they can harm people working at the recycling center.
