The Weatherspoon Art Museum
Are you an art lover? Does local culture excite you? Be sure to check out the Weatherspoon Art Museum, located on the campus of University of North Carolina-Greensboro. The Museum is dedicated to showcasing local artists and their work, and spotlighting homegrown Greensboro talent. The Museum has six galleries and a sculpture garden with over 17,000 square feet of exhibition space. Admission to the museum is free, as well as parking, so it’s also a cheap option for your weekend plans.

Taste Carolina Food Tours
Across historic Elm street in downtown Greensboro, you can find restaurants, shops, parks, theaters, and more. Taste Carolina Food Tours offers a guided trek through the Elm Street area with planned visits to these local establishments. You’ll speak with chefs and restaurant owners who use locally grown produce to make some truly delicious food. Tours run roughly three hours long, rain or shine. Taste Carolina tours take place on Saturdays at 2:00 pm and cost $55 per person.
John Coltrane Jazz & Blues Festival
Located in nearby High Point, North Carolina, there’s a Jazz & Blues Festival dedicated to legend John Coltrane that will surely spice up your holiday weekend. The festival, which runs Saturday and Sunday, includes artists such as Grammy nominated Jazz musician Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, and many more. One day tickets for the festival start at $65.
