$50,000 Grant Provided to North Carolina's Boy Scouts of America

The grant, provided by the Allstate Foundation, will support the nonprofit's work to empower youth through leadership development programs.

Allstate agency owners and financial specialists from across North Carolina recently came together to secure a $50,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant to benefit the Boy Scouts of America. The grant will support the nonprofit organization’s mission to serve more than 4,000 youth and adult volunteers in Duplin, Johnston, Sampson and Wayne Counties of eastern North Carolina.

The Allstate agency owners and financial specialists earned $50,000 for the Boy Scouts of America by volunteering at Camp Tuscarora where they participated in conservation projects and oversaw the rebuilding of the camp dining hall and kitchen.

The participating Allstate volunteers are among thousands of agency owners and financial specialists around the country working to strengthen communities by volunteering their time to support the causes they care about most.

“As small business owners and community leaders, Allstate agency owners and financial specialists see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” said Cary Allstate agency owner Steve Moore. “As an Eagle Scout, I believe deeply in the youth empowerment opportunities provided through Scouting. Camp Tuscarora allows Boy Scouts and other young people who may not have access to this type of outdoor recreation the chance to have a camp experience and spend time in nature.”

The Boy Scouts of America is one of thousands of organizations this year to receive Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants secured by agency owners and financial specialists on behalf of the nonprofits where they volunteer. The grants support organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes.
