GREENVILLE, N.C. – Redshirt freshman wide receiver Tyler Snead of the football team and junior right side hitter Bri Wood of the volleyball program have been named the male and female student-athletes of the month following an outstanding November.

Snead recorded 44 catches for 450 yards and four touchdowns during the month, including 19 receptions for 240 yards and three touchdowns in East Carolina's narrow 59-51 setback at then No. 23 SMU on Nov. 9. He followed that performance with 16 more catches and 126 yards Nov. 23 when the Pirates knocked off Connecticut 31-24 in Hartford. After his showing against the Mustangs, Snead was tabbed the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Wood racked up 67 kills (3.53 per set) and 63 digs (3.32) in November as well as two double-doubles and a .291 hitting percentage to lead the Pirates to AAC victories over Connecticut, Temple and USF. She was tabbed to the league's weekly honor roll twice before earning second-team all-conference accolades at the conclusion of the regular season. Wood enters her senior season poised to become the sixth player in school history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
