Pitt County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Pitt County is August 28. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Pitt County School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/22: System Designated Workday
• 8/23: Teacher Workday
• 8/24: System Designated Workday / Open House
• 8/25: Teacher Workday

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/6: End of First 6 Weeks
• 10/10: Early Release Day, 9-12 Conferences
• 10/11: No School for Students (Teacher Workday)
• 10/27: End of First 9 Weeks

November

• 11/9: Early Release Day, K-8 Conferences
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20: End of Second 6 Weeks
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/20: Early Release Day
• 12/21 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)
• 1/19: End of Third 6 Weeks, End of Second 9 Weeks, End of First Semester
• 1/22: No School for Students (Teacher Workday)
• 1/23: No School for Students (System Designated Day)

February

• 3/13: Early Release Day, 9-12 Conferences
