2021 Great Race, Car Show Coming To Mooresville
The antique auto race begins this weekend in San Antonio, Texas, and will route through downtown Mooresville next weekend.
MOORESVILLE, NC — The 2021 Great Race antique car rally and car show is headed to Mooresville. More than 100 vintage vehicles are scheduled to route through Mooresville Saturday, June 26 as they make their way from San Antonio, Texas to Greenville, South Carolina.
The Mooresville leg of The Great Race is expected to run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m, on Main Street between Center and Iredell avenues.
Cars are expected to start arriving in downtown Mooresville around 5:30 p.m., with a vehicle arriving every minute for about two hours, according to Downtown Mooresville.

Here's what Downtown Mooresville says about the event:
The “Spirit of Mooresville” car will arrive between 5pm – 5:30pm* and in the tradition of this race, is a vintage 1940 Ford Coupe powered by a 292 cu in Mercury Flathead V8 built and driven by Don Miller retired President of Penske Racing and current Chairman of the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame, here in Mooresville.
Before the rally arrives, vintage auto fans can enjoy a local car show downtown. That event, which runs from noon until 4 p.m., will include a DJ, food and beer gardens along the street.
