MOORESVILLE, NC — A vehicle crash snarled traffic for southbound lanes on Interstate 77 Thursday morning.

The accident closed down all southbound lands near the 35 mile marker, Mooresville Fire-Rescue said.

"Please use alternate routes," MFR said.

"Motorists are encouraged to use Exit 36 (West Plaza Drive) or Exit 35 (Brawley School Road), turn left and travel to US-21 (Charlotte Hwy), turn right on US-21 and re-enter I-77 South from Exit 33," North Carolina Department of Transportation said.

South bound lanes of Interstate 77 are currently closed due to an accident near the 35-mile marker, Please use alternative routes.
