MOORESVILLE, NC — Dirty ice machines, warm guacamole and a freezer condenser leak contaminating open containers of food were some of the things found recently in kitchens of Mooresville area restaurants, according to health inspection reports.

A June 26 inspection at Fast Phil’s on Brawley School Road documented seven violations, including out-of-date canned mushrooms, a can of graffiti remover stored on the table with gloves and butter spray, and build-up on the ice machine.

At Moe’s Southwest Grill, eight violations were documented during a June 27 inspection, including numerous food items on the make line, such as guacamole and queso fresco holding at improper temperatures, and buckets of sanitizer sitting near tortillas and papers used to line chip baskets.
A July 5 inspection at Sports Page Food & Spirits documented seven violations, including a leak from a condenser in a walk-in freezer going into open containers of food, drinking cups stacked wet, a corroded shelf on a food prep table and areas of the kitchen that needed cleaning.
