Coronavirus In NC: Harris Teeter Expands Senior Shopping Hours

The grocery chain is one of many in the area offering special shopping hours to accommodate senior shoppers amid the coronavirus outbreak.

NORTH CAROLINA — As of Monday, Harris Teeter grocery stores will offer expanded shopping hours especially for seniors, who are considered among the most at risk for the new coronavirus, the store chain announced.

Grocery stores throughout North Carolina are setting aside special hours for shoppers who may be more vulnerable during the new coronavirus pandemic. In some cases, these at-risk customers will have an hour to shop without others in the store.

Those who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are older adults and people with underlying medical conditions, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
