COVID-19: 205 Dead In Iredell As Spread Remains High In County

While COVID-19 metrics have improved across the state, spread remains high in Iredell County, according to a new state report.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — After weeks of improving metrics, the spread of coronavirus remains high in six counties in North Carolina, including Iredell, according to a new County Alert report by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released this week.

As of March 4, North Carolina health officials reported the six counties that continue to have high spread of COVID-19 represented a significant decrease from 27 reported in late February.
In addition to the six counties in the red zone, 34 communities are now "orange" with substantial community spread and 60 counties are listed as "yellow" due to significant community spread.

"While we are pleased with the improving trends, there is still more work to do to protect each other," DHHS Secretary Mandy Cohen said in a statement.
