An inspection at one Mooresville restaurant found a dozen violations, including open containers of food stored above dusty shelving.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Health inspectors recently graded 10 Mooresville area restaurant kitchens. One area kitchen was found to have 12 violations, including open containers of food stored above dusty shelving, while another had to throw out pans of food because they were held at the wrong temperature, according to health inspection reports.

A June 1 inspection of the kitchen at Pomodoro’s, for example, documented 12 violations for infractions such as raw eggs and unwashed produce stored above ready-to-eat food and tubs of lettuce stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler. “Observed several containers of marinara oil and spice ingredients stored uncovered in walk in cooler above dusty shelving,” the inspection report said.

At Eddie’s on the Lake, an inspection documented seven violations, including multiple metal pans and kitchen gear items with food debris and residue, Seven pans of shrimp chowder made the day before and found to be between 47-52 degrees had to be discarded because they were not holding at 41 degrees, which is the proper temperature, according to the inspection report.
