First-Ever Statesville Pride March Planned This Weekend

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — As parades, celebrations and parties for Pride Month 2021 are held all over the country this June, people in Iredell County are planning and holding a gay pride event of their own.

A Pride gathering and march event is planned Sunday, June 20 in front of Mitchell Community College at 2 p.m. The event is the first annual Pride event in Statesville, say organizers.

"We ask that all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies come down to the front of Mitchell Community College at 2 p.m. on June 20th to celebrate Pride! Love is Love!" organizers said.

"Anybody with love and light in their hearts should come out in support," organizers said.

Mitchell Community College is located at 500 West Broad Street in Statesville.
