Fourth Of July Fireworks Canceled At Mooresville YMCA
The annual fireworks display at the Lowe's YMCA has been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
MOORESVILLE, NC — July 4th will be here soon, however this year's festivities will be quieter. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has prompted Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville to cancel its annual 4th of July fireworks display, a spokesperson said.
The popular event, which is held in partnership with the Town of Mooresville, is a community staple that brings together thousands from around the Lake Norman region for fireworks, local entertainment and food.
North Carolina is currently under a "Phase 2" executive order, which bans mass gatherings for groups of 25 or more outdoors and 10 or more indoors. That executive order is set to be in place through at least June 26, but could potentially be extended.
