Group 4 COVID Vaccination Event This Weekend In Statesville
Those who are medically high-risk are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine this weekend at the Iredell Health System's event in Statesville.
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Iredell Health System is hosting a two-day mass vaccination event in Statesville this weekend for those who are medically at higher risk, as well as those ages 65 and up, healthcare workers and frontline essential workers.
Last week, Gov. Roy Cooper announced that the state was expediting vaccination eligibility for medically vulnerable residents, who will now become eligible under state public health guidelines Wednesday, March 17.
Those eligible under the expedited timeline include those with medical conditions that put them at higher-risk with COVID-19, as well as those living in congregate living facilities at increased risk of exposure.

There is no requirement of proof of the medical condition, Cooper said. "We're going to rely on people's good judgement and their knowledge of their own medical condition," he said.
Additional members of Group 4 will be added April 7, Cooper said.
