Lowe's Earmarks $80 Million For Worker Bonuses, Set To Hire 50K

Lowe's says it intends to hire 50,000 workers for full-time, part-time and seasonal positions this spring. Here's how to apply.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Lowe's is set to distribute $80 million in bonuses to its front-line workers, it announced Thursday.

The news comes as the home improvement store giant said it plans to also hire 50,000 workers for full-time, part-time and seasonal positions this spring.

According to the Mooresville-headquartered company, its 300,000 active hourly employees who work in its more than 2,200 stores, distribution centers and call centers will receive the bonus Feb. 5 "in recognition of their continued dedication." Full-time workers will receive $300 and part-time and seasonal workers will receive $150

The bonus is the seventh the company has given employees during the pandemic, it said.

"As we approach spring, I am enormously proud of the way our associates have served customers and supported each other this past year through an unprecedented health crisis," Lowe's president and CEO Marvin Ellison said in a statement. "We are honored to be an essential business to help our customers keep their homes safe and functional during these very challenging times. We're pleased to provide this additional bonus to support our current associates and excited to welcome these new associates so we can better serve customers across the country."
