Mooresville Commissioners To Hold In-Person Meeting: Details

Mooresville's Commissioners will meet to discuss space for a new library branch and reducing speed limits on some streets.

MOORESVILLE, NC —The Mooresville Board of Commissioners' will meet in person Monday evening, and is set to discuss numerous items, including appropriating money for a skate park, moving forward with a new public library branch and lowering speed limits on some streets.

The meeting, which will be simultaneously live-streamed, is scheduled for Monday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at The Charles Mack Citizen Center, located at 215 N. Main Street in Mooresville.

"The public is invited to attend or view the live stream by visiting mooresvillenc.gov/live," the town said. "Please note if you plan to attend masks will be required and social distancing guidelines and CDC recommendations will be followed."

According to the March 15 meeting agenda, commissioners will consider items including:

  • accepting with appreciation a donation of $5,000 from Mooresville Ford for the Officer Jordan H. Sheldon Memorial Dog Park
  • approving a budget amendment request from the Parks & Recreation Department to appropriate reserve from the general fund in the amount of $137,065 to establish a project ordinance for the design of the Skate Park.
  • a request to approve a Letter of Intent - Offer to Sublease for 614 Brawley School Road for the Mooresville Public Library - West Branch.
  • requests to lower the speed limit on Logan St. to 25mph., as well as approving a Municipal Declaration to establish a reduced speed limit of 25 mph on NC 3 from N. Church St. to N. Academy St. inside the corporate limits of Mooresville, and on NC 3 from N. Church St. to N. Academy St. inside the corporate limits of Mooresville.
