National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day: These Animals Need Homes

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Each year, nearly 7 million companion animals are housed in animal shelters in the U.S. as they wait for new homes. The wait, however, is often deadly for the critters. Around 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized annually, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Monday, April 30 is National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, which means that there's no better time to remember the heaps of animals in our region looking for forever homes. Lake Norman Humane has many animals available for adoption. Could you offer a loving home?
