New Kid Summer Program In Iredell Incorporates Social Distancing

The "Fun In The Sun" activity program is designed to get kids out of the house for fun activities in Iredell County parks.

MOORESVILLE, NC — While the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has thrown a wrench into many summer plans, children in Iredell County now have an option for outdoor activities at county parks that also incorporates social distancing. Iredell County Parks and Recreation is offering "Fun In The Sun" sessions — a new outdoor activity program for kids ages 5 through 11 set to begin in July.

"These 2-hour outdoor activity sessions are a great way for your child to get out of the house, have some fun, and get some exercise!" say organizers.

Activities include dance parties, guest speakers, crafts, games and more. The two-hour outdoor sessions cost $20 each session, and will be offered at different county parks on Mondays and Wednesdays, weather permitting.
