NJ Man Charged With Sex Crimes Involving Iredell Child: ICSO
Jonathan Edward Trumble, 39, was arrested in Cedar Grove, New Jersey and transported to Iredell County earlier this month.
MOORESVILLE, NC — A New Jersey man was arrested and extradited back to Iredell County to face numerous charges for sex crimes involving a child here, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Jonathan Edward Trumble, 39, of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, was charged for incidents that allegedly occurred in southern Iredell County in November 2018, ICSO said.
Trumble was charged with two counts of felony statutory rape; felony statutory sex offense; felony indecent liberties with a child and felony kidnapping. A magistrate judge issued Trumble a $1 million secured bond, ICSO said.

According to a sheriff's office, a report was filed at ICSO in March 2019 about inappropriate messages that were sent to a child in late 2018. "This investigation was investigated locally, however, the findings indicated the incident occurred in Cedar Grove, New Jersey," ICSO said.
Investigators in Iredell County notified law enforcement in New Jersey, and eventually, charges were filed, ICSO said.

In early May of this year, new evidence came to light regarding crimes committed in Iredell County during that time period, ICSO said.

"A child victim was taken to the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center and interviewed," ICSO said. "Based on the victim’s statement, additional witnesses were located and interviewed throughout this new investigation. After reviewing this new evidence, numerous search warrants were received and executed."
The investigation led to an arrest warrant against Trumble for crimes committed in southern Iredell County, and he was listed as a wanted person. The Cedar Grove Police Department arrested Trumble, and he was transported to Iredell County Detention Center on June 11.
