I-77 Ramp Open In Mooresville After Overturned Truck Accident

Access to I-77 South will be blocked from Highway 150 as crews work to upright the truck.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Traffic has resumed on an on-ramp to Interstate 77 South at River Highway (Highway 150) after crews successfully rightsided an overturned tractor trailer truck that had blocked the ramp Thursday afternoon, according to Mooresville Fire & Rescue.

“Resources are enroute to upright the tractor trailer but this may take some time,” it said on its Facebook page following the accident.

“I witnessed this ... it was very scary!” wrote Jamie Binion on the Facebook post. “Three men in a truck stopped to help him out the window! I stopped and prayed with him! He was okay last I saw!”

Binion added that the truck’s drivers didn’t appear to be speeding when the accident occurred. “He may have been going 10- or so he was stopped at the light and when it turned red he went like normal- I think the trailer was empty and just literally toppled over. It was very scary!” Binion said.
