Pair Wanted In Iredell Crime Spree Identified, One Arrest Made
Caitlin Amber Conner, 23, was arrested in Statesville following a foot chase. Authorities said Nicholas Dale Johnson remains wanted.
MOORESVILLE, NC — A couple authorities say is behind a month-long breaking-and-entering and larceny crime spree in Iredell County has been identified, and one arrest has been made, according to Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
According to ICSO, authorities began receiving reports last month of a string of break-ins of homes, vehicle and outbuildings in the county. Video surveillance led investigators to identify the suspects as Caitlin Amber Conner, 23, and Nicholas Dale Johnson, 27, both of North Bost Street in Statesville.
"The suspects were stealing lawn equipment, power tools, guns, jewelry, bags, purses and shoes," ICSO said in a statement.

On May 12, the sheriff's office learned that the pair were believed to have committed another break-in in Mooresville, and were driving a blue Chevrolet Impala. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but after a short pursuit, the suspects fled on foot.
Deputies deployed a canine team and a drone in their search. "A short time later Caitlin Conner was located coming out of the wood line on Fox Avenue in Statesville," ICSO said. Johnson, however, was not located.

Conner was arrested and charged with five counts of felony break and enter; felony conspiracy to break and enter; two counts of felony break and enter of motor vehicle; felony aid and abet larceny; felony larceny; four counts of felony larceny after break and enter; two counts of felony identity theft; felony possession of stolen goods; five counts of misdemeanor larceny; misdemeanor injury to personal property; and two counts of misdemeanor conspiracy.
ICSO said a search is on for Johnson, and that anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call the Iredell County Sheriff's Office at 704-878-3100, or Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340.
