Richard Petty Set To Auction Decades Of NASCAR Memorabilia
NASCAR race fans will be able to buy a piece of "The King's" history in May, when a treasure trove of Petty memorabilia heads to auction.

MOORESVILLE, NC — NASCAR fans will soon have an opportunity to buy rare racing memorabilia, including Richard Petty’s 1974 Dodge Charger that ran in 31 races. The iconic dayglo red and Petty blue car, which is valued at up to $600,000, is just one of the many items belonging to the racing legend set to go up for auction in May in Las Vegas.
“As Babe Ruth and Muhammad Ali were giants in their arenas, Richard Petty is one of the most significant sports figures of our time who elevated the world of motorsports to greatness,” said Darren Julien, President/Chief Executive Officer of Julien’s Auctions, in a statement.
Known as “The King,” Petty’s career behind the wheel and on the track spanned 35 years, netting him 200 career wins, and seven NASCAR Championships.
