Thunderstorms, Possible Tornado Threat: Mooresville Forecast

Severe weather is moving into the region Monday. Here's how long the rain is expected to stick around.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Keep the umbrella handy because it's going to be a soggy week, Mooresville. Thunderstorms and severe weather begin moving into the Charlotte metro and Lake Norman region Monday with sunshine not returning to the forecast until Saturday.

Rain could begin before 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

"A few of the storms could become severe with damaging wind gusts the main threat," NWS said in a hazardous weather outlook bulletin Monday morning. "An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Any of the thunderstorms will produce cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours. Training cells could produce localized heavy rain and flooding, especially tonight near the Blue Ridge."
