Town Of Mooresville Welcomes Three 2021 Summer Interns
Martin Blue, Jahzmine Ranglin, and Jayla Gittens will join the Town of Mooresville as summer interns, the town announced.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville's town manager's office will have three new faces this summer, the town announced Tuesday. Martin Blue, Jahzmine Ranglin, and Jayla Gittens will join staff as summer interns.
"The Town of Mooresville is proud to welcome new interns for the Manager’s Office over
Summer 2021, a mix of bachelor and graduate-level college students who will gain
insight into day-to-day duties of local government," the town said.
Blue, who is currently the President of the Mooresville Youth Council, is a rising freshman at
Stanford University and plans to study an interdisciplinary Science, Technology, and Society
major.

"He is passionate about technology and during his internship, he will have an
opportunity to become more familiar with the Town of Mooresville’s Technology and
Innovation processes, including researching best practices for local governments’
technology departments and assisting with a Strategic Plan update," the town said.
Ranglin is a public administration graduate student at East Carolina University. She will be working in the town’s Finance Department, "to understand the Town’s budget process, reviewing the 2021-2022 proposed budget and major projects to glean how it’s put together, and delving into the American Rescue Plan to discuss a possible project list and project feasibility," the town said.

Gittens studies political science at North Carolina Central University. She "plans to collaborate with staff to learn more about how grant policies and processes work for government agencies, the logistics of planning board retreats, and how the Town of Mooresville is marketed to the public in order to keep residents informed," the town said.
