Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Iredell County

The weather advisory will remain in effect for Iredell County through Saturday morning. Here's what forecasters say to expect.

IREDELL COUNTY — A winter weather advisory was issued for Iredell County Friday morning, as freezing rain and drizzle moved into the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain could cause travel difficulties, such as slippery roads and limited visibility. The advisory, which includes Iredell, Davie, Catawba and Rowan counties, remains in effect through Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.

"Additional ice accumulations of a light glaze may occur this morning, which likely will melt today, but an additional glaze is expected in some locations tonight," NWS said in the advisory. "Freezing rain will either taper off or change over to rain for the majority of the daytime hours today, but as freezing temperatures occur again tonight, any precipitation will change back to freezing rain."
