Charlotte Police Pursue Stolen Vehicle Across City

Charlotte police nabbed the driver of a stolen vehicle that was dangerously weaving in and out of traffic, according to a local report.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police nabbed a suspect in a stolen vehicle after a police chase that stretched more than an hour as the driver weaved in and out of traffic in Charlotte Friday afternoon, according to a report.

WSOC followed the midday police pursuit overhead in the station helicopter. “We were overhead as the car drove over yellow lines and crossed into oncoming traffic. The pursuit moved from Monroe Road to Providence Road to Barclay Downs Drive,” it reported.

According to the station, the vehicle drove over curbs and cut through parking lots during the busy lunchtime traffic in south Charlotte. The pursuit progressed east from south Charlotte into north Charlotte, it said.

The driver was eventually stopped and taken into custody.
