Downed Tree Blamed For Myers Park Power Outage
A massive tree came down in Myers Park Wednesday morning, turning the lights off for hundreds with it.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The lights went out in Myers Park Wednesday morning when a massive tree fell, disrupting power lines, according to reports.
As of 8:30 a.m., nearly 400 homes were still without power, according to Duke Energy.
The tree fell near Selwyn Avenue and Bucknell Avenue near Queens University, according to multiple news reports. Selwyn Avenue remained blocked during the morning commute as crews worked to remove the tree, WSOC TV reported.
