White Ford F-150 With Loud Exhaust Behind Hit & Run Death: CMPD

Police are searching for a white pickup with front end damage after a hit-and-run death of a 21-year-old man crossing the street.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are searching for a white pickup with loud exhaust and damaged headlights and front end they say is responsible for the a hit-and-run death of a 21-year-old man crossing the street late Monday evening.

The truck is likely a white Ford F-150 made in 2014 or 2015, according to police.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to the crash in the 8500 block of Idlewild Road shortly before 10 p.m. June 4, and found Harvey Lee Pettis IV in the road.

Pettis was crossing the road mid-block when the white truck with loud exhaust hit him and sped off without rendering first aid of calling 911, police said.

The white truck was last seen traveling southeast on Idlewild Road towards Margaret Wallace Road, according to CMPD.
