Jeni’s Ice Cream Opening Scoop Shop In South End

CHARLOTTE, NC — Summertime heat is kicking into high gear, but soon ice cream lovers in the Queen City will have one tasty way to cool off. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening its first Tar Heel State location in South End in August.

“It’s true! We’re gearing up to open our very first scoop shop in North Carolina this summer—in the heart of the amazing city of Charlotte,” the company said on its website. “The Jeni’s shop will be located on Camden Road in the historic South End development, Design Center of the Carolinas.”

The ice cream company has existing locations in Columbus, Cleveland, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Charleston, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

Jeni’s is known for its gourmet flavors that include offerings like salted honey pie, brown butter almond brittle, goat cheese with red cherries and strawberry buttermilk.

“Our ice creams have a uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body, with bright flavor and clean finish (we don’t use synthetic flavorings, dyes, or off-the-shelf mixes),” the company said.
