Jeni's Ice Creams Grand Opening Thursday In South End

CHARLOTTE, NC — Queen City ice cream lovers, rejoice. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is opening its first Tar Heel State location on Camden Road in South End Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m..

While the ice cream shop at 1920 Camden Road is already open, the Aug. 9 grand opening party will feature free ice cream for everyone and a swag bag of goodies for the first 50 people in line, the company said.

The ice cream company has existing locations in Columbus, Cleveland, Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Charleston, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

Jeni's is known for its gourmet flavors that include offerings like salted honey pie, brown butter almond brittle, goat cheese with red cherries and strawberry buttermilk.

"Our ice creams have a uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body, with bright flavor and clean finish (we don't use synthetic flavorings, dyes, or off-the-shelf mixes)," the company said.
