Man Turns Himself In For Girlfriend's Murder In South Charlotte
A 27-year-old woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend early Thursday in an apartment in south Charlotte. An infant was found unharmed.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating an early morning murder in south Charlotte after a man drove himself to a police station and confessed to shooting and killing his girlfriend.
Michael Duane Brown, 31, arrived at the station around 1:40 a.m. May 10 and told an officer he had just killed his girlfriend in an apartment in the 10700 block of Point South Drive. CMPD has identified the victim as 27-year-old Whitney Jo King.
Police immediately went to the home, where they found King’s body, as well as an infant, who was not harmed during the incident.

Brown has been charged with homicide.
