New Principal Named For Selwyn Elementary
Sharone Harris has been promoted to principal at Selwyn Elementary, school officials announced Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Selwyn Elementary School will have a new principal in the fall, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education said Tuesday.
The board has hired Sharone Harris as principal for the school, the district announced June 26.
She replaces Shane Lis, according to the school's website.
According to the school district, Harris was most recently the assistant principal at the school, a position she began in 2014.

Prior to joining the administrative staff at Selwyn Elementary, she was assistant principal at Rama Road Elementary and Idlewild Elementary schools and was an elementary teacher for eight years.
Harris holds a bachelor's degree from early childhood education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. She earned a master’s degree in early childhood education from Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C. and a doctorate of education in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
