One North Carolina ZIP code is so rich, it was listed 5th most affluent in the south.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- As a city rooted in banking, it’s probably no surprise that Charlotte is one of the very richest communities in the south.

Bloomberg recently evaluated IRS data to come up with the nation's priciest communities. The most expensive in North Carolina? That would be 28207, which is the Eastover and Myers Park neighborhoods in Charlotte.

In fact, this part of Charlotte is so expensive, Bloomberg ranked it as the 5th most-affluent ZIP code in the south and No. 36 most affluent zip code in the entire U.S. In the Myers Park/ Eastover zip code of Charlotte, the average income is $543,000.

Currently, the highest-priced home for sale there is listed at $4.5 million. The cheapest home on the market now in Charlotte’s toniest zip code is this home, priced at $549,900.

So what's the richest ZIP code in America? That would be Fisher Island, near Miami Beach, Florida. The average income there was $2.5 million in 2015.
