Pedestrian Killed Crossing Sharon Road During Rainy Rush Hour
A pedestrian attempting to cross Sharon Road Tuesday evening — after dark and in the rain — was hit and killed, police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — An investigation is underway in Charlotte after a pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross Sharon Road, according to police.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 5400 block of Sharon Road, in an area that doesn’t have any crosswalks, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. Conditions were also poor for visibility, police noted: it was after dark and raining.
According to a police statement, the victim was struck by a 2005 Lexus RX330 that was driven by Lauren Savage, 39. She was not reported as injured, and police say neither speed nor impairment were factors for her in the crash.
