Ric Flair Hospitalized Over The Weekend

Wrestling legend and Charlotte native Ric Flair is in the hospital for routine monitoring, according to his representative.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Wrestling legend and Charlotte native “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is in the hospital for “some tough medical issues," according to his management team.

The 16-time World Heavyweight Champion was hospitalized over the weekend for routine monitoring, according to his manager, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment. “No reason2panic,” she said in an Aug. 12 tweet.

Two days later, however, Zanoni asked for fan support. “Are you a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues,” Zanoni said in a tweet Monday morning.

While his management has been cryptic about the reasons for his hospitalization, a wrestling news outlet is reporting that he’s in intensive care in Atlanta for a heart-related issue, The Charlotte Observer reported Monday.
