According to an initial police investigation, the suspect was not alone in the robbery attempt. Another male entered the business with him, and one of the suspects stole some phones before both attempted to run from the store, employees told police.
As employees fought with the suspect who was held until police arrived, the other left in a U-Haul Truck parked outside the business as an employee from the business fired a handgun several times. No one was struck by rounds, however police said the truck had at least one bullet hole when it was found abandoned on Center Park Drive.
