Stray Pit Bull Attacks 7 Children At Charlotte Elementary School
The dog wandered onto the school's playground, then was able to get inside the building as children were going inside, according to reports.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A stray pit bull attacked seven children at Lansdowne Elementary school in south Charlotte after it wandered onto the playground and was able to get inside the school building, chasing kids who had been ushered inside by teachers.
The incident involving the dog named “Bro” occurred March 19 around 1:30 p.m.,WSOC reported.
“Some of the children were frightened and were reacting by running and making noise," Animal Care and Control said in a statement, the Charlotte Observer reported. “The canine then became overstimulated by this reaction and began to jump on and bite some of the children. A teacher was able confine the canine.”

The teacher was able to contact Bro's owner by the phone number on its collar. The owner picked up the dog from the school and Animal Care and Control later confirmed it was current on its rabies vaccination, according to WSOC.
The seven children injured all had minor injuries which did not warrant calling paramedics for treatment.
